Multicentre cross-sectional and longitudinal Follow-Up Study in EEC

In the past, evaluation of operative and postoperative long-term outcome of patients with the exstrophy-epispadias complex (EEC) has been solely built on retrospective single centre analysis with contradicting results. To identify reliable prognostic parameters in the newborn and outcome-relevant implications of treatment modalities (single-staged reconstruction versus staged-approach) for postoperative course, we will conduct a prospective longitudinal study. For identification of postoperative long-term complications, we will further conduct a cross-sectional multicentre study including all age groups resulting in an age- and gender-adapted follow-up pass.
